Born in Brixham in 1927 to Edward Dalley a trawler man and Skipper of 'The Prevalent'.
After serving in the Army for a number of years Reg started playing for Brixham RFC in the late forties through to the early fifties. In the mid-seventies and after his playing career he returned to the club, together with wife Joyce, to support and volunteer. With their children grown up, and his son Andrew becoming a Brixham RFC player, subsequently followed by his other sons, the whole Dalley family became familiar faces around the club .
Both Reg and wife Joyce were involved in various roles at the club until Joyce passed away some five years ago, supporting the club for over 40 years. In his role as the Gate Officer for over 20 years no one got past him without paying!
Now recovering from a recent stroke that unfortunately has taken its toll on his sight and ability to stand and walk, initially he was determined to get home again, but this was his second objective - the FIRST ... get to Brixham Rugby Club and support The Fishermen - this he will achieve this coming Saturday for the 1st XV home game against Dings. Well done Reg!
Reg’s family also wish to thank everyone who has been asking after him and supporting him during a difficult period.
