Brixham secure close win in a tense 'avoid the relegation zone' battle with Newbury Blues

6 months ago By David Peck

Astley Park pitch holds out allowing Fishermen to win tense defensive tussle against defiant Newbury Blues team - but win marred by injuries!

Brixham RFC strengthened their position in the tight middle section of the South West Premier league table with a four point win. Unfortunately the Fishermen and Devon Country side have lost their captain Adam Thomas due to a hard tackle in the first half resulting in a broken arm. The whole club wishes 'Thomo' the speediest pain free recovery possible. Also post-match Martin Worthington needed a visit to hospital to get a facial injury checked out.

On a more positive note Tom Putt broke the 200 points/season mark on Saturday, with his points total now standing at 211.

Sam Thomas was voted Man of the Match - well done Sam.
